It seems everyone has an opinion about most any subject. The danger in opinions is that they become recognized by the one doing the opining as bedrock truth. Do we have a scriptural right to an opinion about scriptures? I would argue that we do not.
The term "opinion" comes from the Greek word "Hairesis" which is basically translated "heresy." Peter tells us in his epistle that no scripture is of any private interpretation. That simply means the Bible say what it means and means what it says. It is bedrock truth and all opinions about it are heresy. There can be no multiple interpretations of scriptures to fit our preconceived notions.
If this seems like a very hard, very narrow viewpoint, where am I wrong? I heard one preacher say that he was so narrow minded that a misquito could land on the bridge of his nose and suck out both eyeballs!
