Let me throw some names out there for 2012. I know these will probably not catch fire, but I believe both of these to be good men. Judge Roy Moore (the man who lost his federal judgeship because he wouldn't remove the Ten Commandments from the courthouse) is currently campaigning for the governorship of Alabama. He has a tremendous lead in the polls that I have read about and he has the integrity that we need in the White House. Also, the U.S. Representative from my home district, Rep. Louis Gohmert. He is a former judge so he knows how the judiciary thinks. He has been at the forefront of the fight in the House over the hate crimes laws (he serves on the House Judiciary Committee). He has tirelessly fought for the rights of Christians. Both of these are Baptists (although both are SBC). I would also probably still cast my vote for Rep. Duncan Hunter if he were to run again, the only drawback being that he was connected with Duke Cunningham.

Men, as much as I want to say that things will get better in the next two election cycles, I believe that the Republican party lacks the moral fiber, competency and common sense it will take to win significantly in Congress in 2010, and the White House in 2012. The party in Washington is doing everything it can to sound more like the Democrats, and some are even blaming us Christians for Republican losses (after we've been carrying their water all these years).

No other conservative political party will be able to get their act together in time, IMO, so it looks like it's going to be a downhill spiral.
