Here are some questions.
What is the purpose of church services? (worship God, growth, feed the flock)
Where is the gospel to be preached? (to the lost world, outside of His church)
Where does God receive glory? (only in His church)
Who does God accept worship from? (only in His church)
Your answers to these questions will show what you believe to be proper outreach and will lead you in a direction to outreach according to what you believe. Where is the scripture that advocates bringing visitors to a worship service? Seeing that they are not able to worship God according to His acceptable form of worship (in His church).
This is my opinion and I will not say it is the only way. But worship service is to worship God, sing Him praise, feed the flock etc. Salvation preaching is to be done outside the doors, in the world. I am not saying we are to ban visitors, but our focus should not be to merely get visitors. The focus is to lead them to the Lord, baptism and in the church, where they can be fed and worship.
I just think we get our goals backward sometimes.
in the past two weeks our Church Members (some who've never been on outreach) have shared the Gospel clearly w/ about 30 people, and we've publicized our Church to bout 1000 homes.
