I have a friend in Kansas who did what you have suggested you might do, and he was NEVER invited back to preach at that BAPTIST church again.

Contemplate the consequences beforehand!

I don't know about you guys but I'll preach anywhere I get invited and some that I don't! Lost people in an ABA church need the Lord as bad as lost people in an SBC church and as bad as lost people in a Mormon Temple etc. :-) Can I get a witness?

How did it turn out?

Postby Pastor Jim Rose on 2008 Mar 19 Wed 7:47 am

Dear Utahlandmarker, since I'm new I wasn't here to see your post on the baptist churches who wanted speakers to come.
The thought of people who claim to be saved and wanting to hear the word,(chomping at the bit I believe you said)thrills me beyond belief.
So how did it turn out? Were you able to go? where are they located? If they are baptist, then what is the need of all the re-teaching? Not trying to be a smarty pants or anything just a bit confused. Are they just baptist in name only?
Any how let me know how it turned out.
Yours in Christ.

PREACHING THE WORD.

Postby Pastor Jim Rose on 2008 Mar 20 Thu 9:32 am

Dear Utah Landmarker,
I agree with those who would go. How frustrating for you to know where a field that is white with harvest was and could not go to reap it.
Jesus told us to ask the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers into the field. The problem is that supporting men full time to send them out into the field costs a lot of money and the Lord's people don't practice sacrafice like they use to.
If you ever get a call that is in a days driving distance of Sandpoint, Idaho
let me know. I will by God's grace find a way to take the truth to those people.
When Paul would have gone into many places the Holy Spirit restrained him untill he got the call from Macidonia. The out come was a wonderful rightous and Holy Church who loved Paul and would do anything for him.
I hope we who try to take the gospel to who wish to have it are never restrained by the fears of men, but empowered by the love of God.Did not Jesus say freely you have recieved so freely give. Did not Jesus say that the well need not a physcian but the sick.
Preach on brother, and we will pray for your success.
P.J.R.
Yours in Christ.
