Bro. Mike,

I say go for it.

I am not particularly computer or internet savvy. But, again, I say if you can do this go for it.

I actually thought about recording some of our services on a dvd and going around the neighborhood giving them out to see if there might be any response. Then my wife reminded me that this might be quite expensive. But, if I were starting a new church, I would give this some serious consideration.

You might look into sermonaudio.com, if you have not already tried it.

NEAT IDEA

Postby Pastor Jim Rose on 2008 Mar 19 Wed 8:44 am

Where do you keep coming up with all these neat ideas. I finally have my church looking at the idea of building the work through evangelism and now I'm trying to come up with ideas that would work here in Idaho.
I've read and personally experianced that door knocking and tracks are a lot of work and the yeild is low or nothing. Most people don't want you at their front door even if they wanted to hear your message. People like to have time to analize things before responding to it.
So I'm always in the market for new ideas that would apply to todays world and still stay in the confines of the scriptures.
One thing about the radio station. I remember years ago that a friend I had in a Washington Christian College was a D.J. in a radio station that broadcasted from the college. It's signal was not very strong and the out reach was pretty local but available.
Maybe you could look into starting an F.M. station of your own. It might only reach a couple of square miles, but in a heavy populated area that might be enough. Just a thought.

I know that this is a little late but if anyone is interested in getting the gospel out with the internet I would be glad to explain how we do it for under $20.00 a month. The only up front cost is a video camera that is downloadable to a computer. If you want to see the finished product go to www.mercedmissionarybaptist.org.
