Forum rules
The title of this forum has somewhat of a dual meaning - with regard to a 'general' versus 'specific' perspective. Generally speaking, History and Tradition have been the contributors of the distinctives of Baptist faith and practice. The topics in this forum should be about those specific things that have been contributors of the distinctives of Baptist faith and practice - based on History and Tradition. In other words, History and Tradition is the "category" and contributors of the distinctives of Baptist faith and practice is the "theme"... If the nature of the topic does not match this "category" and "theme", then it should not be placed in this forum.

Can any of you help me with a Church in Texarkana?

Our Church finds our lineage immediately from a Central MBC or Central BC in Texarkana. I have not had success finding anything about this church. We were sent out from them in 1947. Can you help?

Any information will help.

Central Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas is also the mother church of Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, Texas. Central is still a strong, active church. It went with the NABA when the split came in 1950 and remains a part of that fellowship which is now BMAA.

Bro. Ridings, according to the BMAA Directory and Handbook, Central MBC was organized in 1936. The church is a member of the Harmony local association, BMA of Arkansas and BMAA. The last record I have (3 years ago) the pastor was Jamie Haguewood. If you want to get more details, you might try e-mailing him <jhaguewood -AT- mac.com> or if that doesn't work contact someone with the BMA of AR http://bmaofarkansas.org/
