January 2008
"Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation." Psa. 62:1
The Church at Jannaram was visited on 6th January to see the mission work over there. There was very good attendance of about 150. This place surrounds many hamlets and the mission is on the highway. Pray that the Lord will still strengthen the work over there and many souls will be saved. The pastor over here is also in charge of another mission work at Chinthagudem. A new temporary shed was constructed at Chinthagudem so as to enable many to come and worship. About 35 people gather for worship over there.
About 25 Kms from Jannaram, there is another place called 'kanupally' who are interested in buying land. The local people raised some money and the balance amount was taken as hand-loan. They are having difficulty in paying the monthly instalments for loan amount. The total amount for the land is about $ 1600. Pray that the Lord may provide the need.
Monthly pastors meeting took place at Dandepally. All the pastors that gathered on that day, prayed for the Regional meetings at Dandepally from Feb 5th to 7th 2008. Many volunteers have decided to come and make preparations for these meetings. All the churches in the mission also fasted 'one-day' for the meetings. Our church, Life Gate Tabernacle prayed for 3 months for the meetings on every Saturday and also prayed on 26th January (Republic Day, which is a holiday) specially for the meetings.
Holy Convocation meetings took place as usual at Kakinada from Jan. 12th to 15th. The Lord blessed the meetings in a special way as many souls were saved and baptized. I had the privilege of speaking at the Pastors' Seminar at Vishakhapatnam from Jan. 22nd to 24th. The topic I preached was on the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It was a good time of study, teaching and preaching.
Continue to pray for Life Gate Tabernacle, as we are still unable to do any work on the church building construction. We are earnestly waiting upon the Lord to open new doors to help us at least complete the sanctuary part of the project. Day by day the cost of construction are escalating. Also the depreciation of the US Dollar, is making the cost of construction dearer. For the past one year the dollar has been depreciating constantly, which is reflecting upon the expenses of our mission work. Hence more amount is needed for the ongoing expenses for the mission work. Please pray that the Lord will burden many more to help support the work.
Special Prayer Request:- I took a loan of $ 2500 to pay the 2nd semester fee of my eldest daughter, Elsie Victoria who is studying her 3rd year medical course in Ukraine. The last day for the paying the fee was 31st January; but the dean of the college when requested granted the late payment of the fee by a week. Pray that the Lord will provide the finances to clear the loan.
May God bless you for your faithful prayers and support.
In Christ Jesus,
