Putting Things In Perspective

Postby SWaters on 2009 Jun 27 Sat 1:12 am

Sometimes situations in life can make it seem like things are spiraling out of control; those are the times that it is good to step back and put things into perspective and realize who exactly is in control.

God spoke to Job at such a time. (See Below)

May we never forget that things are never as bad as they sometimes seem.

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

doesn't it?

Ephesians 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he
would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with
might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by
faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend
with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to
know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with
all the fullness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Unto
him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without
end. Amen.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not
consumed.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, says the
Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at many times and in various manners spoke in time past
unto the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken unto us by his
Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our
sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

Job 38:1-41 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is
this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now your loins
like a man; for I will demand of you, and you answer me. Where were you when I
laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding. Who has
determined the measures thereof, if you know? or who has stretched the line upon
it? On what are its foundations fastened? or who laid its cornerstone; When the
morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Or who
shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the
womb? When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band,
And prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors, And said, Thus far shall
you come, but no farther: and here shall your proud waves be stopped? Have you
commanded the morning since your days began; and caused the dawn to know its
place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might
be shaken out of it? It is turned as clay under the seal; and they stand out as
a garment. And from the wicked their light is withheld, and the uplifted arm
shall be broken. Have you entered into the springs of the sea? or have you
walked in search of the depths? Have the gates of death been revealed unto you?
or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? Have you perceived the
breadth of the earth? declare if you know it all. Where is the way where light
dwells? and as for darkness, where is its place, That you should take it to its
domain, and that you should know the paths to its home? Do you know it, because
you were born then? or because the number of your days is great? Have you
entered into the treasury of the snow? or have you seen the treasury of the
hail, Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of
battle and war? By what way is the light distributed, which scatters the east
wind upon the earth? Who has divided a channel for the overflowing of waters, or
a way for the lightning of thunder; To cause it to rain on the earth, where no
man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man; To satisfy the desolate and
waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender grass to spring forth? Has the
rain a father? or who has begotten the drops of dew? Out of whose womb came the
ice? and the frost from heaven, who has given it birth? The waters harden like
a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. Can you bind the cluster of
Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in its
season? or can you guide Arcturus with its children? Know you the ordinances of
heaven? can you set their dominion in the earth? Can you lift up your voice to
the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover you? Can you send lightnings,
that they may go, and say unto you, Here we are? Who has put wisdom in the
inward parts? or who has given understanding to the heart? Who can number the
clouds by wisdom? or who can pour out the waterskins of heaven, When the dust
grows into clumps, and the clods cleave fast together? Will you hunt the prey
for the lion? or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, When they crouch in
their dens, and abide in their lairs to lie in wait? Who provides for the raven
its food? when its young ones cry unto God, they wander about for lack of food.

Colossians 1:14-17 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things are held together.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.

May the Lord Bless Us as we labor together for His Name's sake.

BTW, the link did not work. It takes you to a youtube page with ads for some sort of teen comedy and videos of people crying about Michael Jackson.

HAHA...Sorry that you couldn't see the images! :)

Just for clarification, this has nothing to do with the death of M. J. (I quite frankly do not care about that) and the pictures that you couldn’t see were incredible images taken from the Hubble Spacecraft.

The point is I was just meditating on the awesome power of God preparing for Sundays sermon and thought that I would post that just for fun. It is amazing when you consider that of all of God's amazing creation (both seen and unseen) we are the only creature that is made in His Image and we are the apple of His eye; yet in comparison to the vast universe and the power displayed in it, we seem so small and meaningless.
