Terms of Use/Terms of Membership
This board is created for all Landmark Baptists. In order to foster better fellowship among ourselves, we have a few guidelines.
1. You agree not to post any material that is abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, threatening, or that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to your being immediately and permanently banned.
2. You agree that the webmaster, administrator, and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move, or close any topic at any time should they see necessary. They will inform you of this and of the reason as soon as possible.
3. You acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of only the author and do not hold admin or moderators liable.
4. You agree to honor other members and their privacy, and will not attempt to access another's account by means of hacking or requesting their password. Hacking will incur immediate banning.
5. You acknowledge our Statement of Faith and are willing to accept those statements as the majority opinion here.
Posting Guidelines
Certain rules of normal netiquette apply here.
1. Re-read and edit your posting carefully before posting. Check the spelling, grammar, and capitalization. Don't be afraid to re-write entire paragraphs. Typing in all capital letters usually denotes screaming or yelling; avoid it. Less drastic effects include *bold*, /italics/, and _underline_.
2. No flaming! Flaming is the act of sending or posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting. A normal, non-flame message may have elements of a flame -- it may be hostile, for example -- but it is not a flame if it is seriously intended to advance the discussion. Flaming can apply to a person, OR to a church or association.
3. No spam... Spam is defined as solicitations, requests for money, promoting, etc. A signature line ad is acceptable, if it is a reasonable length.
Serious violations of the above Posting Guidelines will result in the forum moderators following the steps listed below.
1. On your first offense, your post will be deleted, and you will be contacted privately explaining the reason for our action. You may be required to "right the situation" in some manner, such as apologize to the one you committed the offense against.
2. On your second similar offense, your post will be deleted, and you will be banned from posting on the Boards for ONE WEEK. An apology may also be required in this case.
3. On your third similar offense, you will be banned permanently.
Statement of Faith
• We believe the Bible to be inspired and inerrant, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
• We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
• We believe in the premillennial, personal, bodily return of Christ as the crowning event of the Gentile age. This event will include the resurrection of the righteous to eternal heaven, and the Millennium will be followed by the resurrection of the unrighteous unto eternal punishment in the lake of fire and that the righteous shall enter into the heaven age.
• We believe that Jesus Christ established His church during His ministry on earth and that it is always a local, visible assembly of scripturally baptized believers in covenant relationship to carry out the Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, and each church is an independent, self-governing body, and no other ecclesiastical body may exercise authority over it. We believe that Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission to the New Testament churches only, and that He promised the perpetuity of His churches.
• We believe that Christian ordinations and baptisms must be performed by a valid New Testament church to be valid.
